The Islands Wellness Society is an inclusive community-based agency that provides a variety of services in a safe and supportive environment.
These services endeavour to promote empowerment, overcome trauma, address violence, promote equality and enrich the lives of children and families on Haida Gwaii.
We are funded through the Ministry of Public Safely and Solicitor General under the Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division, as well as the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
We have 5 programs of service: Child Care Resource and Referral, Child and Youth Counselling, Outreach, Victim Services, and Women¹s Counselling. We also recently adopted the food bank, now called ³Feed the People² Food bank. Check out each of the program pages for more information on what kind of services they provide.

The Islands Wellness Society child and youth counselling program is designed to aid children and youth who have been impacted by abuse in the family and extended community.
Child and Youth Counselling

We provide individual, group/circle counselling, and workshops to women 19 years of age and over residing in the south-end island communities of Haida Gwaii.
Women’s Counselling

We provide practical and emotional support to ALL victims of crime while our Outreach program coordinates with other agencies on-island to identify and address the needs of women and their families.
Outreach and Victim Assistance

The Child Care Resource and Referral Program provides support, resources and referral services for child care providers, parents and caregivers in all communities on Haida Gwaii.
